Parents
& Citizens’ Assn meets 3rd Monday of each month at

BUSY LAST WEEK: What a full-on week we’ve just had to finish the term, with our R.E. excursion to the Marian Catholic Church on Tuesday, the Cross Country on Wednesday and the Easter Hat Parade today!
Many of you shared some of these events with us and I’m sure you’ll agree they were great!
I was especially please that all our regular R.E. attenders took part in our church visit, and that they were well behaved and seemed genuinely interested in what Father Kevin had to tell them.
A big thank-you goes to our R.E. volunteers for arranging this visit, as over half the school’s student population had never been in a church before!!

Our Cross Country races were well contested with some very close competitions in all races. Congratulations to all runners and the younger students who took part in the one lap “fun run”.
The winners of our Cross Country Shield this year was Cobras House. Can they repeat this winning form late in term 2 at our Hampden Sports Day??
The winner of our fantastic encouragement award main prize of a BMX bike (donated by Machineteck Engineering) was Michael Volker.
We have some other great prizes as incentives for all children to maintain their fitness activities leading up to the Seaforth (Sub-District) trials next term. So keep training everyone!!
Without the willingness of Sue Wales and her offsider Stephanie Cruickshanks to provide their time and effort to train, co-ordinate, seek-prizes and run our cross-country program our children would not have had this wonderful opportunity.
Thank-you, ladies!

Easter just wouldn’t be the same without our traditional hat parade, and singing and dancing along to Easter songs.
Thank-you to Annette Medway and Bronwyn Wiseman for preparing their classes for this morning’s very enjoyable and entertaining performance. Thanks also to all our parents for your involvement in the morning and the shared morning tea which followed.
SCHOOL CLOSED!! Due to extensive trenching and other work associated with the replacement of all water lines within the school grounds over the holidays, the school will be closed, literally!!
Normally families would use the school’s tennis court or other school facilities during the holidays, however this will not be possible this Easter due to this construction work taking place.
All disturbed ground is scheduled to be restored by the start of term 2.
Have a happy and safe Easter break.
Howard Frost
Principal.
