Parents are invited along to see and hear Mrs Kelly present the school with a new flag for use on Anzac Day, present our 2007 school leaders with their badges, and make the official announcement of our successful application for grants funds for school improvements.
Following this parade you are welcome to join us for an informal morning tea and chat with Mrs Kelly and others in attendance.
HAMPDEN CROSS COUNTRY: These events will commence as soon as possible after 9.00 this Wednesday, beginning with the 9 year olds.
Following the running of all events a brief presentation of medallions ceremony will be held, and the winning house team announced.
Parents and friends are encouraged to join us for this morning of friendly competition.
EASTER HAT PARADE: Here’s another invitation to join us at school!! Easter just wouldn’t be the same without an Easter Hat Parade, and the singing and dancing to accompany it!
Come along and help the prep to year 3 children celebrate and stay for a share morning tea afterwards.
We’ll also be drawing the Easter Hamper raffle winners at that event.
And on the Easter theme, don’t forget to return the permission forms for our “excursion to church” this coming Tuesday.
Father Kevin of the Marian Catholic Church will ‘walk’ the children through the 14 Stations of the Cross beautifully pictorially represented on the church walls.
As they say, “Jesus is the reason for the season”!
Howard Frost
Principal.

SPORTING CHAMPS: Congratulations to Jordan Proctor and Jordan Perna who have been chosen in sub-district teams for Basketball and Netball respectively, and to Cody Morrison who has been selected in the Mackay U11 Rugby League team. Best of luck for further success.

Based on the nominal hour requirements from each unit, Innovation Training would run the program one evening per week for a 3 hour period over a two semester time-frame; this would enable parents to attend at a suitable time to them, while the two semester time-frame would still allow for the 62 nominal hour targets to be met for the program.
These hours and the schedule are flexible and if more training was required then it would be able to be delivered or if units were completed quicker than expected then another unit would be fitted into the program which would be Microsoft’s office Outlook 2003.
These units in the schedule are open for discussion prior to the beginning of the program.

Hello Everyone
Some wonderful construction from Prep year one this week. After reading the story entitled “The Lighthouse Keepers Lunch” we decided to find a way to get across an expanse of water, without swimming or using a motor that required fuel.
An initial plan was made on paper, and then a model was constructed. Next we explained to our Reading Buddies and our teachers and aides how our model would work.
Some great ideas included a vessel that is actually a huge pump powered by water pressure, a large row boat, bridges, floating pipes, flying foxes, catapults and giant fishing rods! When asked if their ideas would really work the reply was “Of course not Mrs Medway – they’re made of cardboard!”
A very special thank you to all of our Teacher Aides and Parent
Helpers this term. The children have made great
progress in Numeracy,
Thank you
Annette
