PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

YOU WERE WONDERFUL!  I know there was a degree of disappointment for all of us after Friday night’s Rock-Pop-Mime performance, but we shouldn’t let the technical mishap by the DJ, or the fact we didn’t win, cloud our perceptions of what was in fact a wonderful routine performed magnificently by our children.

If anything, the glitches the children encountered and overcame like true professionals enhanced their reputation for being disciplined, switched-on and very competent dancers.

Yes, it’s great to win, but I’m sure the manner in which we conducted ourselves made us “winners” to the several thousand spectators present, and I know for sure your efforts made us all very proud indeed!!

Besides, when you look at the bigger picture, how many other schools can boast two firsts and a second in consecutive rock-pop performances??

Take a bow, Rock-Pop Team!  Along with your adult supporters you’ve proven yourselves to be No. 1 in our eyes!

BRING ON THE HOLIDAYS!  With the persistence of the debilitating illnesses currently afflicting so many of our students and staff, the holidays are looming as a real godsend.

Hopefully the two weeks will allow the cycle of infection and re-infection to be overcome, and we’ll all be back at school fighting fit for the start of term 4.

Howard Frost

Principal.

ACTIVE AFTER-SCHOOL:  A final HUGE thank-you to our parent volunteers who stepped in to fill the gap and ensure our AAS program was able to be conducted this term.

Kerri and Andrew Proctor (Rugby League), and Stephanie Cruickshanks and Karen Gee (Multi-skills) have been outstanding.  Just ask the kids!

CWA UPDATE:  Since the local judging earlier this year, winning CWA student entries (Mongolia) have been progressing to District, Regional and State levels of the competition.

Congratulations to Kimberley Wales, Melissa Burns and Alisha Keast whose work was awarded 3rd prize at District Level.

Darcie Cahill’s work was judged 1st at both the District and Regional Levels, and has been forwarded to Brisbane for the State Finals.

Congratulations Darcie, and good luck for these finals!

GROUNDSCARE NEWS

Welcome to our groundscare roster, Shane and Martin Thompson.

Shane spent the day here on Monday pruning the gardens around the 6/7 building, and what a difference it has made!  Thank-you, Shane!
