Parents
& Citizens’ Assn meets 3rd Monday of each month at

WORKING BEE: Yes,
it’s that time of year again – time to don the working clobber and roll up the
sleeves for a few hours of work at your local school!!
There
will be jobs for everyone – dads, mums and even the kids! So don’t think that you wouldn’t be able to
contribute.
This year
we’re departing from our ‘traditional’ Sunday morning in favour of a Saturday
afternoon due to the large amount of Sunday sport currently occurring and if
you can’t make it for kick-off (
Positives
for a Saturday afternoon include: the
longer you work, the cooler the day
becomes; and there is a sunset clause (literally) limiting the working time! (no doubt there will be an “appeal against the light” long
before sunset though!)
Our
working bees always have a social component as well. You’ll get to know other families in the
district as you work along side them, and then as you share a drink or two at
the barbie to finish.
I always
leave our working bees with a good (warm fuzzy) feeling knowing I’ve
contributed to improving the appearance and safety of
our
school, and formed some new bonds with other community members as well.
So come
along and “share the pride”!
Howard
Frost,
Principal.

CROSS COUNTRY: There has
been a fabulous turn-out of students participating in this first week of
cross-country training, which is great to see.
Equally impressive is the increasing number of adults
participating as well.
Look out for more on the cross-country in next week’s
newsletter

As soon as I receive details I will pass these on to
students involved.
BEHAVIOUR
MANAGEMENT POLICY:
With today’s newsletter you should receive a copy of the
school’s new Behaviour Management Policy.
During 2006 every

Hello
Everyone,
Helicopters are
all the go in Prep/Year One
this
week! We wrote a letter
to Jack Cahill
asking him to bring in his collection of
helicopters to show us, read books about
helicopters, discussed helicopter rescues, and looked for resources to
build out own cockpit and safety gear for the Prep/Year One Helicopter/Rescue Crew!
Our Reading Buddies read non fiction books to us this week,
and next week we hope to read to them!
More spiders have found their way to Prep/One. Thank you to everyone who brings in Specimens
in to us to identify! The
Investigation has become a great, ongoing learning
experience for the class.
Literacy and Numeracy groups are progressing well thanks to
the dedication of our hardworking band of helpers.
The children made some detailed explanations of where they
lived this week, and ‘mapped’ where their house was. Come in and see our display.
Yours sincerely
Annette Medway
. 100’s CLUB: It has now been decided to focus on other
fundraising activities and NOT to hold the 100’s Club in
2007, as mentioned in Frank’s 2006 President’s Report last week.
Thank you to those who have made enquiries in this regard.
BAR
ROSTER: Below is
the list of anticipated dates (at this time) for which support will be required
to serve drinks at the Mackay Junior Rugby League Grounds.
Please note them on your calendar and volunteer to assist
where possible “when the call goes out”.
April 08th (Easter)
July 01st
August 12th, 19th, 26th
September 02nd
On some of these dates, we will be operating more than one
bar.
