Parents
& Citizens’ Assn meets 3rd Monday of each month at

REPORTS: What did you think of the new reporting format used when your children brought home their reports on Wednesday?
And what did you think of their actual results? As I mentioned last week, there are no graduations on the new 5 point scale, therefore a child who has almost achieved a B rating will be graded a C. Similarly a student who has “only just” achieved a C will received he same report score.
Parent-Teacher interviews will be arranged as soon as possible after the holidays; stay tuned for times and other arrangements.
SPORTS DAYS: Yes, the wet weather has forced the second postponement of our sports day, which you should have received notification of already.
Our new date is the first Friday back in Term 3, namely Friday 13th. Let’s hope its 3rd time lucky!!!
Changes to the Calen district sports dates may yet follow as well. We’ll keep you informed.

LONG SERVICE/HOLIDAYS: I would like to wish everyone a happy and safe mid-year vacation break, and look forward to seeing all our regular families (and some new ones as well) next term, which starts on Tuesday 10th July
I would also like to wish Helen Taylor and Iris Thomas “happy travelling” as they enjoy some well earned Long Service leave next Term..

HAIL CREEK COMPUTER COURSES: I was quite surprised with the response to this course as evidenced by the numbers of community members at Tuesday night’s orientation session.
I have since spoken to the course instructors to confirm and clarify a few points which were raised at this orientation. These are as follows:
Ø
Farleigh – Wednesdays
Ø
Calen -
Tuesdays
PIE DRIVE: The forthcoming holidays will be an ideal time for our upper school
students to collect orders for their school camp pie drive.
Please support their fundraising efforts.
PORTERS/YATES COMPETITION:

Unfortunately we weren’t amongst the place-getters this year, however our entry was noteworthy and will be on display at Sports Day.
The whole year 6/7 class have had many useful learning outcomes from this competition.
Thank you to those families who attended the judging to fly the “Hampden Flag”
OPTI-MINDS WORKSHOPS: About 14 of the 6/7 attended the second round of workshops today. I’m sure they gained as much knowledge, experience and enjoyment today as they did a fortnight ago.
Thank-you to Helen Taylor and the parents who have been ale to provide transport on these two occasions.

Details have just been provided to the P & C regarding the Footy Bars. We have agreed to supply workers for the middle weekend of the holidays.
As some of our regular “bar tenders” will be away on holidays, it would be great to see some new faces volunteer to give us a hand.
Please phone President Frank (49 540274) if you can assist us with a couple of hours of your ime on one of the following days:
SATURDAY 30 JUNE – 2 bars –
SUNDAY 01 JULY – 2 bars – 10.30am to 6.pm
